“Scenes of Cape Ann” At Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Through the generosity of the of the local photographers and the beautiful work by James and Anna Eves from Cape Ann Giclee, pictures on canvases of familiar places and events on Cape Ann are on permanent display bringing memories and comfort to the residents on the memory impaired unit of Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation.. The unit looks like a museum of fine art and the residents love it!

It has been a year since the beatiful images have been hung on the walls.

These images have provoked memories, conversation and comfort to the residents on a daily basis as they are surrounded by images of places and events they know and love.

Many thanks to all the photographers who participated in this project making this memory enhancement program a huge success. Friends of Seacoast

Thanks to the Friends of Seacoast the residents of Seacoast have enjoyed many special events including weekly Musical Entertainment, Dinner Theater, A Red Sox Home Opener Celebration with Fenway’s favorite foods.

The Friends of Seacoast enhance the resident’s lives at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with hours of enjoyment by providing the finances needed for the special entertainment, supplies and community outings. Any and all donations to The Friends of Seacoast are gratefully accepted. Next fundraiser event Friends of Seacoast RAFFLE

Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation APRIL news

Thanks to the Friends of Seacoast, the residents enjoyed their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with Irish Step dancers and an Irish concert by Sgt. Dan Clark.  They also enjoyed the St. Joseph’s celebration with zeppolis fresh baked by Donut Jims.  Other weekly concerts were offered by professional entertainers including the Honky Tonk Women’s singer Sheila Schrank.

The Friends of Seacoast enhance the resident’s lives at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with hours of enjoyment by providing the finances needed for special entertainment, supplies and community outings.  Any and all dontations to the Friends of Seacoast are gratefully accepted.  Their next meeting will be held on Tuesday April 14 at 6pm at the Bank of Gloucester.

The Cape Ann Museum has been offering Seacoast ongoing programs.  This artistic expression project has included poetry, painting, a museum tour and art demonstrations within the Seacoast facility. 

The next museum tour is scheduled on April 7th.  The next museum visit to Seacoast titled “Portraits from Cape Ann museum” is scheduled for April 28th.

Beth Wein will return to Seacoast each month to give a presentation about Gloucester’s history.  These slideshows focus on various pieces of our city’s history.  It’s called the History SHARING program because Beth will share what she has learned about the topic while the audience is encouraged to share what they know.  The next visit is scheduled for April 20th at 2pm

Thanks to the Friends of Seacoast the residents enjoyed many activities including their Valentine’s Day with beautiful décor, a concert with love songs and a dessert buffet . The Superbowl Celebration, weekly concerts and the monthly dinner theater with entertainment by Sheila Schrank were all a great time thanks to the Friends.

 Special thanks to the Students from Eastern Point School, West Parish Students and the Freshman Class of Essex Tech who made handmade Valentine Cards for the Seacoast Residents. Every resident received a lovely Valentine Card.

 The Friends of Seacoast enhance the resident’s lives at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with hours of enjoyment by providing the finances needed for the special entertainment, supplies and community outings. Any and all donations to “The Friends of Seacoast” are gratefully accepted.

The Friends of Seacoast are grateful for the gifts received in honor of loved ones.

 

We are looking forward to many upcoming events with the support of the Friends of Seacoast including a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with Irish Step Dancers, an Irish concert by Sgt.
