Hope you and yours are well!
I hope you can post this on GMG as we are gearing up for another great race on Saturday, August 26.  Discounted registration is available at www.magnolialibrary.org until July 1.

MAC kicks off weekend of tennis events with a benefit for ALS hosted by Nick Bollettieri

MANCHESTER, MA—November 17, 2015. This week, Manchester Athletic Club’s MAC Tennis program, welcomes Nick Bollettieri—who will host an adult tennis social and pro exhibition to benefit ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALSTDI) this Friday evening at 7pm.

In addition to the fundraiser, Bollettieri will be the centerpiece in a weekend of events, geared toward parents and junior tennis players, which focuses on coaching outstanding athletes. Saturday, November 21, at 2pm, MAC Fitness Director Nan Gorton will speak to parents on the USTA’s Strength & Conditioning Philosophy and Resources. At 2:45, Sports Psychologist Bryan Lomax will lead a session on Helping Your Child Compete Like a Champion. The sessions are free and open to parents of USTA New England tournament players. Additional presentations will take place on Sunday November 22 at 9:30am and 10:15am. Parents are encouraged to call for a reservation.

During his annual visit to the club whose tennis program he helped design 13 years ago, Bollettieri will also give private and group lessons, host a 10-and-under Green and Orange Ball Day on Saturday from 12:00-2:30pm, and lead High Performance Tennis Academy Days Saturday from 2-5pm and Sunday from 9am-12pm.

Last year, Bollettieri received the highest honor in tennis when he was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island. He has coached ten #1 players in the world including Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Martina Hingis, Jelena Jankovic, Marcelo Rios, Monica Seles, Maria Sharapova, and Venus and Serena Williams—as well as the current #6 player in the world, Kei Nishikori..

“We’re pleased to have Nick here to work with our tennis players, parents and coaches as well as help raise money for ALS, said Todd Carpenter, Director of Tennis at Manchester Athletic Club. We invite our members, as well as the USTA junior community and their parents, to seize this unique opportunity to spend time with a world-renown, passionate and inspirational coach.
