We will be offering community workouts for anybody that wants to check us out or wants to get a good workout in. We will be starting this , Saturday September 12th at 9am at Crossfit Cape Ann, the cost is $5 and the proceeds will be donated to local causes.
On September 10th Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center will be celebrating the end of summer with our residents with a family BBQ. We are looking for antique cars to join our show. If you have a special car you would like to show off, please contact Alison at 978.283.0300 for further details.

We are pleased to announce the 39th running of the Magnolia Road Race to benefit the Magnolia Library Center next Saturday morning. This year, the great Joe Nadeau Band featuring Sandy Peek will perform right on Lexington Ave at the finish line.
The traditional kid’s 1K Fun Run will begin at 8:30AM followed by the USATF approved 5K Road Race at 9:15 AM. The 1K Fun Run route will follow Norman Ave. to Shore Road to Hesperus Ave. to Lexington Ave. and finishing at the Library. The 5K road race map below outlines the route and streets that could be affected between 8:30AM and 10:15AM. Senator Bruce Tarr will officially start the 5K while Cape Ann Savings Bank EVP and Team Gloucester running legend Bob Gillis will kick off the 1K.

Georgia Forrest, a life long resident of Gloucester celebrated her 100th BD at Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by family, friends and local dignitaries. Family came as far from the west coast to share this momentous occasion with Georgia. Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken was in attendance to present one of a number of certificates and citations to Georgia in honor of her 100th BD. Representatives from Bank Gloucester were also present and thanked her for her years of service as a dedicated employee. Seacoast’s executive director, Stephen Doyle, led the party goers in a enthusiastic rendition of Happy Birthday.

Mollie and John Byrnes were honored last week on a Gloucester Harbor cruise fundraising event featuring live entertainment and a silent auction.
The Gloucester residents invited others in the community to join them in supporting a new Cardiology Suite at Addison Gilbert Hospital with a $150,000 challenge grant to the Addison Gilbert Society.
“We are so pleased to support the new Cardiology Suite, and delighted that Dr. Michael Arsenian is heading this important service at Addison Gilbert Hospital,” said John Byrnes.
In April, the brand new Cardiology Suite at Addison Gilbert Hospital opened. Featuring two physician offices, two patient exam rooms, a registration area, and a spacious and comfortable waiting area for patients and family members, the suite is conveniently located adjacent to the hospital’s main entrance and close to frequently needed diagnostic and treatment areas. The new practice is led by Michael Arsenian, MD, a well-known and well-respected cardiologist.
“Here on Cape Ann, we are confronted with a high-risk population for cardiac needs. These patients deserve high-quality care as close to home as possible. Our new suite addresses that concern by providing patients with the best cardiology services under one roof, without delay,” said Dr. Arsenian.
More than $75,000 has been raised to date to meet the challenge and support the Cardiology Suite. Community support has been instrumental in this initiative that streamlines cardiac care for Cape Ann residents.
