Free Streaming Nia, Restorative Yoga and Moving to Heal Classes via Zoom with Linda for the Week of Feb. 14th Time change for Moving to Heal: Thursdays at 1:30PM EST

Current Nia Routine: Motown

Come join us as we revisit a routine celebrating the great music of Motown.  You will sing along and groove to the tunes like Superstition, Baby Love, and more.

Moving to Heal NEW TIME Thursdays at 1:30 PM

Moving to Heal Nia is a slower, less intensive class with less standing and more done in the chair. Great for people with injuries or conditions that make it hard to participate in a classic Nia class. Also good for people getting back into exercise. For more info on Moving to Heal, see the info and videos on my web site or click here

Restorative Yoga

In this crazy season, treat yourself to an hour of peace, relaxation and restoration.  Lovely passive practice aimed at quieting the nervous system, mind and body.

Find some cushions, large books, yoga blocks, blankets, whatever you can use instead of bolsters and blocks.  We make it work.  For more information on Restorative yoga, check out my site, niawithlinda.com.  It is a lovely passive practice that gives the participant relaxation and calm. Who couldn’t use that right now.

So here is how it works.  It will be easier for you if you download the Zoom client for meetings for a desktop or laptop, or the app for phones and tablets.

Click here for the link to download the zoom client or the app

Then click on this link to bring to my website and the list of streaming classes

At my website, niawithlinda.com, go to the zoom classes tab. You will want to click on the link for the class and time you are trying to join.  Otherwise you will be all alone!

If you have downloaded the client/app, the meeting will open automatically in that interface.

If you have not downloaded the app/client, it should open in a web browser.

You can join early and sit in the waiting room. No magazines but no doctors either.

I’ll leave the audio open till the class starts.  If I leave the audio on, it interferes with my audio and we can’t have that!  I’ll open it back up at the end.  If you need to get my attention, you can raise your hand.  It is an icon in the middle of the bottom of the screen.

If you need any techie help, call me  617-851-2738  or email me at contact@niawithlinda.com

Find a little space in your home and be prepared to move and have fun.

Feel free to share these invitations to classes with anyone who needs it.

Love to all and stay healthy,

Linda Wilkes

Meet the Y Camp Spindrift Leadership Team!

Hello Camp Families!

As the snow melts, I can’t stop thinking about warm summer days at Camp Spindrift and all the campers, old and new, that will join us for a summer of adventure, fun and friendship. The YMCA camp tradition will continue this summer for hundreds of children from Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and beyond!

The 2022 season brings new leadership from longtime friend Heather Boudrow. With 12 years of summer camping experience, Heather will be taking on the role of Camp Director. Heather has been a valued and respected member of the Camp Spindrift team since 2009 in a number of capacities. Her experience includes senior camp counselor, CIT group leader, camp administrator, and inclusion specialist. Heather has also worked for the Gloucester Public Schools as a Special Education Paraprofessional and has extensive experience working with teens.

Heather is joined by an incredible camp leadership team, Justin Wilson, Jessica Henzie, Dan Savage, Felicia McIerney, David Tucker, and Rachel Soper, just to name a few. Nothing is more important to this amazing group than creating a safe, nurturing, fun and engaging summer for your kids. They have been working diligently getting everything ready for all our campers to ensure they will have the best summer ever.

With 46 acres of beautiful woodlands and waterfront in historic Gloucester, Camp Spindrift offers campers the opportunity to explore, swim, play games and cool off in our spacious outdoor pool, stay active on our sprawling sports field, go hiking and climbing, build confidence on our challenge course and kayak the Annisquam River. With a new fun theme every week, your child will be part of a long tradition as they create lasting memories.

We cannot wait to see you at camp this summer!

Best,
Chris Lovasco

Current Nia Routine: Disney Songs

This Disney routine focuses on the hands and feet. The body parts  we take the most for granted, until they are painful.

So join us and we’ll have fun singing and dancing to Disney Songs.  Here’s a sneak preview of one of my favorite finds, an a cappella version of “I Wanna Be Like You” from the Jungle Book sung by DCappella.
