Teacher Training: Yoga for Families of Addiction

Saturday&Sunday January 18&19, 10am-6pm
Explore how to hold space for families and loved ones affected by addiction. As yoga teachers we often hold space for so many in their times of need. This mini teacher training will help you to create a safe space for families affected by the powerful disease of addiction. We will use Al-Anon principles in combination with restorative & flow yoga, crystals, essential oils, meditation and more.
You will leave this class empowered to teach your own 60-120 minute flow class and discussion for families of addiction.
This certification will count as 20 CEUs with Yoga Alliance. 18 contact hours. 2 non-contact hours.

Whether you are brand new to yoga or wanting to reconnect to the basic fundamentals of your practice, you are welcome to attend this Beginner Yoga Series. Vinyasa yoga unites the body and the breath through the creative linking of postures (asanas). With down-to-earth, clear instruction and explanation, you will learn several postures and breathing practices most commonly used in a vinyasa-style yoga class. This series is designed to guide you in feeling more comfortable in your own body and provide you with a foundation to build a sustainable, personal yoga practice.

Check out Inner Cycle’s new location in Gloucester on Eastern Ave with their signature spinning style. Just down the street on Pond Rd, flow into to Treetop to find strength


Inner Cycle will lead a 45-minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) cycling class. We will work through sprints and hills to raise and recover the heart rate, in a fun and challenging, but appropriate for all-levels workout.

Treetop will lead a 45 minute Vinyasa Flow yoga class. Set to a fun playlist, we will open the shoulders to balance your grip on the handlebars, flow through a balanced sequence that hits all the right spots on the body, and take time to breathe before the rush of December.

Weekend Workshops at Treetop Yoga Studio

We will examine the question “Why do we do warrior poses in a practice based on non-harming?” After a fun, energizing flow, we will analyze the alignment, anatomy and energetics of these poses, and learn how to personalize them to our individual bodies. We will also explore their history, mythology, and connection to yoga’s foundational ethics.

Join instructors and reiki practitioners Hilary Richard and Gurdeep Bhogal for an evening of restorative yoga and energy work. We will focus on the crown chakra (sahasrara), which is associated with stillness, emptiness, presence, intelligence, awareness, knowledge and understanding. You will be put into nervous-system relaxing restorative poses while crystal healing and reiki is used to activate our ability to experience realization, grace, enlightenment and bliss. We will begin with a mudra and mantra to get the intention in motion. Enjoy an rnr retreat to heal any blocks preventing us from understanding that we are one in unity with the Divine,. This is the seventh, and last workshop in a series, however, don’t fret if you missed the first one!
