Teen and Tween SUP Yoga at Essex Marina

Copy of Teen and Tween SUP Yoga.pngTeen SUP Yoga (Ages 12+): This workshop is a two hour-on water SUP Yoga class. This class is open to teens of all-levels regardless of yoga and/or paddling experience. We just ask that you are comfortable in- and around the water, even though many teens end class as dry as they started it. To start the class, Anneliese will provide a mini on-land lesson to make sure that everyone is familiar with the equipment and comfortable using it. As a group, we will then paddle out to find a nice calm spot to hold class. The exact location depends on winds, weather and tides. Anneliese has been teaching this class for 6+ years so she knows the Gloucester harbor and Essex River like the back of her hand. Once there, will anchor up to our group anchoring system and Anneliese lead the group through the class. We’ll end with some yogi play and a relaxing savasana as we are rocked gently to the water beneath us.

Investment:$40

There is a $10 discount for people who bring their own equipment (Board, Paddle, PFD, Leash)

*This workshop is definitely all weather dependent. Cape Ann SUP checks the weather and winds about 10x per day but, as we all know, things can change quickly here on Cape Ann. If for whatever reason we need to cancel the class, you will receive a refund and we will try to inform you at least a full hour before the start of class (Please leave your email and phone number so that we can contact you, if need be).
**Parking at the Essex Marina – Please use 35 Dodge St. Essex Ma for your GPS. You can pull into the marina and then head right. You’ll see our shipping container and tent with boards all the way to the right. Someone may be there to direct you to parking or you can park in the middle of the lot. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
***Parking at the Beauport Hotel – Technically, we’re not suppose to use the valet and/or park on-premise at the Beauport. There is usually plenty of parking in St. Peter’s lot, Rogers Street and along Fort Square.

IMG_1322

Join instructors and reiki masters Hilary Richard and Gurdeep Bhogal for an evening of restorative yoga and energy work. We will focus on the root chakra (Muladhara), that is associated with feelings of being grounded, security, support and identity. You will be put into nervous-system relaxing restorative poses while crystal healing and reiki is used to bring out past and present junk that prevents us from feeling our feet on the ground. We will begin with a mudra and mantra to get the intention in motion. Enjoy an R&R retreat to heal deeply into the roots of yourself. This is the first of a series of workshops.

LEARN TO MEDITATE WITH SUSAN HIMML

Sundays, April 28 and May 5, 6:00-8:00 PM This introductory 2 session course will help you to explore the basics of meditation. It will simplify the process and prepare you to receive your own personal mantra at a later date if you choose to.   Practiced for thousands of years, meditation is a tool for rediscovering the body’s own inner intelligence. Primordial Sound Meditation uses individually selected sounds of nature called mantras, to disconnect us from the activity of life. These primordial sounds are based on the vibration the universe was creating at the moment of your birth. Practicing Primordial Sound Meditation on a daily basis will help you:

  • Manage stress & reduce anxiety
  • Improve your relationships
  • Create inner peace
  • Enhance your sleep patterns
  • Lower your blood pressure
  • Connect more deeply to spirit
