A professional presentation and additional related training is helpful when working with Reiki. Reiki is not meant to take the place of conventional medicine; contact your physician with any medical issues. Reiki Practitioners offer Reiki. Potential Benefits of ReikiReiki Ryoho is a ‘hands-on’ healing art, using light or no-touch and involves no manipulation. Reiki promotes relaxation for mind and body, homeostasis (balance) and self-healing. Potential benefits include –

  • improved comfort,
  • increased calm,
  • relief of physical and emotional tension,
  • improved sleep,
  • greater sense of inner peace.

Uses of Reiki – First and foremost, for SELF. No matter what level of Reiki you aspire to, “me-first” or Reiki self-care is important for good health and balance and allows you to offer more to others such as family, friends, and pets.

Reiki in Healthcare – Because of its gentle nature, ease of use and quick relaxation response, Reiki is offered adjunctively as supportive therapy in hospitals, hospice, cancer centers, pain management centers, and other healthcare settings. Reiki is most often offered for the purpose of relaxation, reduction of stress, relief of pain, and symptom management.

Reiki Research* – preliminary studies found in PubMed indicate Reiki to be potentially beneficial for relief of pain and anxiety. (*When researching Reiki in the literature, I recommend you seek reputable sources offering peer-reviewed articles with a basis in science.

New to Reiki? – If you are interested in trying Reiki, ‘Reiki Shares/Clinics’ are offered monthly on ‘first Tuesdays’ at the Manchester Community Center (Manchester-by-the-Sea) and ‘3rd Wednesdays’ Lahey Healthcare Outpatient Center (Danvers) for a nominal fee.
