Reiki Training Level 1
REIKI TRAININGS with Marleen Wood
January 11 & 12 (Saturday & Sunday)
Ayurveda Wellness Healing, 25C Lexington Ave, 2nd Floor, Magnolia, MA
REIKI TRAINING LEVEL 1
Reiki Master Marleen Wood will offer a class in Level 1 of Usui Reiki training.
Reiki is a Japanese hands-on healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki means Universal Life Energy, the energy that sustains all life. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
First Degree Reiki Training
We will capture the essence of Reiki. You will hear the history of Reiki and learn about applications of Reiki, harnessing and protecting your energy. You will learn how to do a complete Reiki treatment using hand positions and intuition. You will learn the five precepts of Reiki and practice specific Japanese meditation techniques. You will experience attunements at a local energy vortex, so that you may begin practicing Reiki on yourself and others, with understanding and clarity. You leave class with a certificate, fully trained to do Reiki on yourself, loved ones and friends, plants and animals.

January Smoothie Special @ Mac Fit Gloucester

2020: Celebrating the New Year and Expressing Gratitude … Gloucester-style
New Year’s Day began with a ‘walk of good intentions.’ Blessed with sunshine and mild temperatures on Cape Ann, friends and strangers came together for a walk in Dogtown. We hiked to Whale’s jaw. A piece of the Whale’s jaw boulder broke off in 1989, but Whales Jaw still stands as it has for over ten thousand years. Standing as a reminder of strength, resiliency and endurance, and symbolic of Gloucester’s fishermen and women. There, we celebrated the new year with a guided meditation and sharing good intentions of gratitude, tolerance and peace.

With Gratitude. Thank you to Jimmy and Laurel for extending their annual New Year’s walk to this community event, to Wendy for her soulful guided meditation, for the all those who came out for the walk and their positive energy, and to Laura, for the beautiful space to gather! One sentiment shared by the the group was the hope that our beloved Dogtown endure throughout the ages, for many new generations to come. We came upon many others celebrating the new year in Dogtown Commons, walking, jogging and biking, enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.
Appreciating Babson and his reminders of virtue. Babson donated more than 1,100 acres to the city of Gloucester in the 1930s “as a park and watershed.” Carved Babson boulders found throughout Dogtown Common remind us of some of the virtues that are the foundation of good moral being, the fabric of a healthy society. Among my favorites are Industry, Courage, Help Mother, and Kindness.

Happy New Year & Number 4!
Happy New Year and number 4!
2020 is a very special year of perfect vision and accomplishment *(20/20 vision).
2020 is reduced to a single number = 4. The number 4 is our foundation that represents order, responsibility, stability, family, home, manifestation, conservation, peace, physical reality, and practical solutions. It is also the number of work and of getting things done. You are being asked in 2020 to be fully invested in creating a foundation for long-lasting success, security, and grounding by building something of value that stands the test of time.
The number 4 brings a sense of calm. Focus on what matters, and ultimately supports you to build new foundations and dreams. So, in 2020, you will have additional strength, discipline, and fortitude to work miraculous results for yourself! 2020 will create remarkable opportunities for you to take your foot off the brake and move forward with diligence and courage.
So in summary the essence of 2020:

New Years Eve and New Years Day YOGA
Teaching New Year’s eve classes are Erin’s favorite thing. She is elated to join you on the east coast again this year for an evening of community, possibility, cultivating clarity and of course bringing the sweat and sweet soul.
It’s time to turn the lights down low, set the tone, take a pause and acknowledge all that you’ve been through and all that’s yet to come. We’ll join together for an evening of alchemy using movement, breath, space and silence to process, honor and release another year and decade gone by.
Expect an all levels class and then grounding it all down with restorative poses + yoga nidra (guided sleep meditation) to cradle you right into a new year with another chance to live life to the fullest and set your 2020 vision. Bring your partner, your friends and kids and let’s do this thing!

Or, come tomorrow to flow with Jaime from 11:00-12:30–A Vinyasa flow yoga class for the 2020 resolutioners, the first timers, the committed yogis, the hungover, the well rested, the strong, the weak, the coffee drinkers, the green tea sippers, the in-transition, glasses half full, glasses half empty, and the how-did-I-even-get-here’s.
