This Nia routine is all about flexibility and strength to music from movies, not musicals, but movies whose soundtracks have become iconic.

If you are new to Nia with Linda, these streaming classes are free.  Share with anyone who you feel needs a little movement in their lives during this period of social isolation.

So here is how it works.  It will be easier for you if you download the Zoom client for meetings for a desktop or laptop, or the app for phones and tablets.

Click here for the link to download the zoom client or the app

Then click on this link to bring to my website and the list of streaming classes

At my website, niawithlinda.com, you will want to click on the link for the class and time you are trying to join.  Otherwise you will be all alone!

If you have downloaded the client/app, the meeting will open automatically in that interface.

If you have not downloaded the app/client, it should open in a web browser.

You can join early and sit in the waiting room. No magazines but no doctors either.

I’ll leave the audio open till the class starts.  If I leave the audio on, it interferes with my audio and we can’t have that!  I’ll open it back up at the end.  If you need to get my attention, you can raise your hand.  It is an icon in the middle of the bottom of the screen.

If you need any techie help, call me  617-851-2738  or email me at contact@niawithlinda.com

Find a little space in your home and be prepared to move and have fun.

IMG_4996For Restorative Yoga, find some cushions, large books, yoga blocks, blankets, whatever you can use instead of bolsters and blocks.  We make it work.  For more information on Restorative yoga, check out my site, niawithlinda.com.  It is a lovely passive practice that gives the participant relaxation and calm. Who couldn’t use that right now.

Feel free to share these invitations to classes with anyone who needs it.

Love to all and stay healthy,

Linda Wilkes

Spring Allergies ~

Spring Allergies ~

Spring is springing and so are allergies!

Nobody wants to hear this, but diet definitely does make a difference when you’re suffering from allergies.

Most people suffer from Kapha type (phlegm) of allergy symptoms – sinus congestion, sneezing, lung congestion, watery eyes, fatigue, lethargy, mental fogginess. So it’s important during allergy season, and even for several weeks prior, to start a Kapha reducing diet. This means cutting out or drastically reducing dairy products, wheat, fried foods, and cold or iced drinks. During this time you want to add warming spices like ginger, drying grains like rye and barley, and lots of fresh vegetables including leafy greens.

Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC is available to help you through the spring allergy season just message us to book your virtual appointment.

nia flyer shout out broadwayIMG_5059

Current routine will be our homage to Broadway.  You can be a Broadway diva in your living room.  No critics, whew!

The whole streaming thing is working pretty well.  I’m awaiting some new equipment to further improve the quality of the music and a better mic that doesn’t cut out when I sit on the floor.  Fingers crossed.

It’s amazing how many people have been “attending”.  I had some folks from Florida and upstate NY join us last week.  Pretty cool.

So here is how it works.  It will be easier for you if you download the Zoom client for meetings for a desktop or laptop, or the app for phones and tablets.

Click here for the link to download the client or the app

Then click on this link which takes you to my web site and a list of the week’s classes

Click on the right class link.  Otherwise you will be all alone!

If you have downloaded the client/app, the meeting will open automatically in that interface.

If you have not downloaded the app/client, it should open in a web browser.

If you need any techie help, call me  617-851-2738  or email me at contact@niawithlinda.com

You can join early and sit in the waiting room. Just like a doctor’s waiting room but better.  Once there, turn on the “start video” button at the bottom of the screen.  That will allow you to see others and for them to see you.  If you want to be incognito, don’t start the video.

For Restorative Yoga, find some cushions, large books, yoga blocks, blankets, whatever you can use instead of bolsters and blocks.  We make it work.

I’ll leave the audio open till the class starts.  If I leave the audio on, it interferes with my audio and we can’t have that!  I’ll open it up at the end but if you need to get my attention, you can raise your hand.  It is an icon in the middle of the bottom of the screen. I will see it and I can stop and turn you mic on. Such fun!

Feel free to share this with anyone who needs to move and have fun!

With Hope There is no Fear~

With Hope There is no Fear~

By going with the flow of life we are staying in the present moment and the load is much easier than trying to carry life @deepakchopra

When we take a breath, step back, and let go, we can get caught in the ease of the flow…making it easier to activate the hope inside us.

With hope there is no room for fear.

Can you activate the hope inside you and let go and be with the flow of life?

Inhale, exhale, Inhale, exhale….
