Ladies Yoga & Surf Workshop with Anneliese Brosch

Saturday July 13th 5:00-7:30

Treetop Yoga and Cape Ann SUP + Surf Co are so excited to partner up this summer in order to offer a lovely Ladies Surf and Yoga workshop to the community of Cape Ann. This workshop may push you outside of your comfort zone as you explore the complimentary activities of surfing and yoga in the same evening. This workshop will start at Treetop Yoga where we will prepare our bodies and minds for an hour in the water. The class will focus on shoulder/heart openers and other surf-related postures to cultivate fluidity within our mind body and spirit. Following the yoga class, the group will head down to Long Beach (the Gloucester end) to slide into our wetsuits and get in the water. The surf lesson will start with a brief on-land lesson to practice paddling, pop-ups, and cover a few safety precautions. Once we have answered everyone’s questions, we’ll head into the water! Everyone is learning. We ask that you come with an open-mind and a can-do attitude. It’s less about how “good you are” and more about “how much fun you are having.” After all, the best surfer in the water is always, always the one having the most fun. We will have multiple instructors in the water to give you pointers, help you into waves and teach you the best technique.Yoga 5:00 – 6:00pm
Surfing 6:30 – 7:30pmInvestment $45 Register Here

*These workshops are definitely all weather dependent. Cape Ann SUP checks the weather and winds about 10x per day but, as we all know, things can change quickly here on Cape Ann. If for whatever reason we need to cancel the class, you will receive a refund and we will try to inform you at least a full hour before the start of class (Please leave your email and phone number so that we can contact you, if need be).

**Parking at Long Beach. Typically, Long Beach has paid parking but after 5:00pm, you should have no problem parking in the grass lot off of Beachland Ave for free.

The Empty Cup ~

The Empty Cup ~

An empty cup is a gift

It allows us to have walked away from things, people, institutions etc that were no longer filling us up.

It takes strength to empty our cups.

When our cup is empty it can be filled with anything, anyone we like, desire.

An empty cup helps us reach out to things “we” like, need.

When our cup is filled with “us” joy has a chance to appear.

Too often we loose ourselves in relationships with friends, family, partners, jobs etc that are not filling up our cup with “us” but them.

STAND UP PADDLEBOARD YOGA

This workshop is a two hour-on water SUP Yoga class. This class is open to all-levels regardless of yoga and/or paddling experience. We just ask that you are comfortable in- and around the water, even though many people end class as dry as they started it. To start the class, Anneliese will provide a mini on-land lesson to introduce people to the equipment and ensure that everyone feels comfortable using it. As a group, we will then paddle out to find a nice calm spot to hold class. The exact location depends on winds, weather and tides. Anneliese has been teaching this class for 6+ years so she knows the Gloucester harbor and Essex River like the back of her hand. Once there, will anchor up and Anneliese lead the group through the class. We’ll end with some yogi play and a relaxing savasana as we are rocked gently to the water beneath us.

Investment: $40 REGISTER HERE

There is a $10 discount for people who bring their own equipment (Board, Paddle, PFD, Leash)

Dressing for Summer ~

Dressing for Summer ~

Cooling colors for summer…

Summer is the season of fire, and there is an increased tendency for arguments, yelling, and getting angry. It is better not to discuss any serious topics during the hot hours of the day, or during very hot days. If you need to make important decisions, do it in the morning or evening when it’s cool.

Dress in cotton (or silk) clothes, and as much as possible avoid colors like red, orange, yellow, and black. Gentle and mild colors help one to stay cool, especiallyblue, white, green, and purple. After dressing, you can do your worship or meditation practice if it is part of your routine.

Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC go to summer color is white…what’s your go to summer color to keep your cool?
