When was the last time you pulled out a chair at your table and enjoyed your meal? Can’t recall?
Are you experiencing gas, heartburn or indigestion? Through the lens of Ayurveda it is not so much about what you eat as it is to being mindful (present) when you eat.
Ayurveda Wellness Healing has a few tips to help you get back on track and to view food as medicine…
~ Stop
~ Breath
~ Prepare foods that are in season
~ Use spices to help your digestive fires
~ Set the table
~ Turn off all electronics
~ Eat your heaviest meal between 12 – 2 pm
~ Smile
You are not what you eat but what you digest and that includes your site and hearing.

Last weekend teachers from Rockport and Gloucester Public Schools sacrificed their weekend so they could inquire about their own relationships to health and wellness, as to better understand how they can serve the youth they work with. There were also nurses, coaches, and other leaders who work with youth all across Massachusetts and one participant even traveled from Virginia.
My hat is off to all of them. We’re blessed to have people like these teaching our kids.
Cape Ann Power Yoga is grateful to our teachers and our community for making it possible for us to host this type of empowering training in conjunction with the Baptiste Foundation! The two day training was free for people who work with youth to help them bring the techniques we practice on the mat into the classroom.
#Unstoppable was a huge success and we are honored to announce our now
This relationship will help us to bring more educational programming like this to the people of Cape Ann and more people who seek out this type of experience to our fair city to visit, enjoy, learn, and grow.
The yoga is working. We thank you all for your support!

Our coaches run every class as a teacher, a resource for questions, a motivator, a support system, and a safety supervisor. Our coaches are responsible for ensuring that your form is correct and that the exercise volume and load is adjusted to your current fitness level. Sometimes they may give you a nudge if needed to push it little more and other times they may encourage you to slow down. Beyond that, our coaches make themselves available to meet with our current members to discuss realistic goals, nutrition and to help them establish positive lifestyle practices. Our coaching staff is truly the best around!

Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC knows the importance of living in harmony with nature and it’s cycles…
Ayurveda promotes mental well-being by bringing the body and mind back into balance through following the rhythms of nature. When the body becomes exhausted from living, we don’t have the energy, so we become anxious. “And when we become totally exhausted, we become depressed.”
From an Ayurvedic perspective, depression and anxiety are symptoms of a system that is overtaxed and out of whack. Massage, nasal breathing, meditation, resetting our internal clock, doing yoga, and even eating warm foods can help us get out of that state of chronic imbalance.
Here are simple Ayurvedic practices to help reset your system:
Abhyanga, daily self-massage with oil, calms the nervous system and boosts immunity by removing toxins that have traveled from our organs to the skin. As part of a daily routine, it also helps to lubricate muscles, tissues, and joints. Place oil in your nose and ears to help prevent sore throats, sinus congestion, and allergies.
Nasal breathing while walking or exercising activates a calming vagal response and drives oxygen more efficiently into the lower lobes of the lungs, compared to mouth breathing.
Try to move snack food to meal times and eat three meals a day.
Get to bed before 10:00 pm. The longer you stay up past 10:00 pm, the more wired and exhausted you become.
Eat warm cooked foods slowly and calmly to balance the nervous system.
Do Sun Salutations slowly with deep nasal breathing to open the diaphragm. Just 10 minutes in the morning can have a dramatic impact.
According to Ayurveda, the inability to focus is connected to our energy levels because the mind and body require a certain amount of energy to settle down and focus.
